The Maastricht Jazz Awards: Now accepting Applications!

Apply to win one of 3 awards with a total value of €6500!
In collaboration with the Maastricht Conservatorium, we’re excited to present the second annual Maastricht Jazz Awards. An international jazz competition for Euregional top-talent.

Any great jazz scene is built on a band culture making it vital to stimulate collaboration and give up-and-coming artists regular opportunities to showcase their talent. Winning an internationally recognised competition gives a massive boost to anyone who wants to build a career as a musician by providing them with credibility, exposure and resources. The pize-money provides necessary funds to create promotion materials, recordings and to fund concert tours.

The Maastricht Conservatorium and Jazz Maastricht want to meet these needs together by creating a prestigious jazz competition; the only international jazz competition in the Maas-Rhine Euregion!

The MJA will celebrate its second edition on November 2nd, 2017. The goal is to stimulate the careers of promising artists in the region. The competition has two categories: Student and Professional with a prize package of €6.500. This is divided across two awards: the ‘YAMAHA Young Talent Award’ and the ‘Professional Award’.

Experience the excitement of the competition for free! (ground floor standing room only). Everyone has a chance to let their voice be heard when voting for the Audience Award.

If you’d like to enjoy the evening in comfort, you can purchase exclusive seats on the balconies where you’ll enjoy the best view in the house with a refreshing drink. A limited number of luxury tickets are on sale for €15. If you’d like to reserve tickets you can email These tickets are a direct contribution towards this fantastic competition!
