Resident Parking Permit
A large part of Maastricht has paid parking and/ort parking for permit holders. If you live in one of these districts, you can apply for a resident parking permit (except for the Céramique district). This permit entitles you to park your car in the zone you live in. Prices depend on how far away from Maastricht’s city centre you live. You can apply for a residents parking permit online.
Usually in Maastricht, only one resident parking permit is allowed per household. If your accommodation provides a parking space already then you are eligible for a residents parking permit to park on the street for your second car. For more information click here.
Foreign Student Parking Permit
Are you studying at Maastricht University or Zuyd University of Applied Sciences from abroad and travelling multiple times a week to Maastricht from your address abroad? Then you may be eligible for a parking permit for international students. Check the requirements on the municipality website.
The foreign student parking permit entitles you to park in one of the following zones:
- Brusselsepoort
- Jekerdal
- Villapark
- Sint Pieter
- Noorderbrug/Franciscus Romanusweg
- Mariaberg
UM students
You can park for free with your UM card 24/7 near UM Sports (Sorbonnelaan). Most UM parking is reserved for staff because of the limited space that is available. The policy with this is that “full is full”. So, if the parking lot is full, you cannot gain access and there is no guarantee of a spot.
