Having fun on a student budget

Do you want to treat yourself to something nice after an intense resit session but don’t want to dry out your wallet? We’ve got some ideas for you to try out 🙂 As you might have seen in one of our Instagram posts, there are a bunch of student discounts around town available with just a flick of your student card.

We’ll start our list with guaranteed entertainment for both your mind and soul by checking out the fine art exhibitions at Bonnefantenmuseum for half their usual price! Specifics on what they’ve got going on at the moment can be found here.

If you’re more into science, the Natural History Museum has got you covered. With their €1 discount, you can make the most out of the €8 ticket and explore nature-themed exhibitions and workshops. Whether you’re curious about plants, animal mummies, geology or simply want to take a stroll through the museum gardens, you can book your experience here.

If going to museums is not your definition of fun, what about going to see the newest movies on the big screens? On Mondays (Student Day), Pathé offers students the chance to enjoy films for only €9. For arthouse films, documentaries or for those who enjoy classics, Lumière is the place to visit. Working both as a cafe and movie theatre, you can get your student ticket here for only €8.

After a day of flashing that student card, you will be in need of some fuel. Several restaurants in Maastricht offer tasty bites suited to a student’s budget. With your student ID, you can get 10% off in a variety of venues: Piano B for fresh and heartwarming pizza, SMAAK  for comfort dishes such as nurturing soups and salads, desserts and fun drinks, or Cucina 50  for a cosy Italian dining experience.

Keep an eye out for other such places in future Instagram posts or blog articles! Have you got any tips? Send us a DM 🙂
